Born in 1986 in Kraków, Tymon Markowski is a self-made photographer with a degree in Sociology. He began taking pictures in 2006. He is a recipient of a grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland. He was nominated at and won some of the most prestigious photo prizes in Poland and abroad. Markowski received “Photographer of the Year” Award in the Event category for the International Photography Awards 2016.
Tymon was also honoured with the “Photojournalist of the year 2016” Award offered by Polish Association of Photojournalist. His works were presented on individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad and were featured in many respectable venues like ”The New York Times”.
He is also a founder of the educational initiative Street Photo Poland, which focuses on the promotion of street photography in Poland.
