Yoriyas Ismaili at LSPF

We are happy to announce that apart from co-leading LSPF 2018 workshop Yoriyas Ismaili will be one of our Photo series first round judges.

Yassine Alaoui Ismail, also known as Yoriyas, is a Casablanca-based photographer and choreographer, and a member of The Street Collective.

He started playing chess when he was five years old, leading him to fall in love with mathematics. By the age of 16, the influence of Hiphop changed him completely and he became a street dancer. While travelling around the world as a professional dancer for competitions he discovered his passion for photography.
The unique blend of his North African heritage, chess and his love for dance lead him to one-of-a-kind methods of self-expression through photography.

Yoriyas’ work has been featured in New York Times, The Guardian, Spiegel online and more.

His awards include Les nuit photographique Essaouira (2016), Mediterranean photography festival France (2016), the final of LensCulture Street Photography Awards (2016), as well as Miami Street photography (2017).

He got selected to New York Time Review 2017 and held solo exhibitions in 1-54 African Marrakech , l’Institut français – Casablanca, Moussem Cities Leading casa Brussels,  and Presence photographic Montèlimar France.
